Many people have had hip replacements.

In its simplest terms, a hip consists of a ball and a socket.

When a traditional hip replacement is performed, the ball is replaced and the socket gets a new lining. Different materials are used to replace the ball and socket. When metal is used for both the ball and the socket, it is called a metal on metal hip replacement.

Although all hip replacements can experience complications, it is the metal on metal hip replacements that are causing great concern. They are causing concern because when the metal ball rubs against the metal socket, microscopic metal particles are released into the body.

Numerous complications arise from this.

First and foremost, patients are being poisoned by these metal particles. They now have tainted blood circulating throughout their body. It is essential that if you had a metal on metal hip replacement, that you have your blood and urine tested immediately.

You must see how high your metal levels are !!

The medical community has determined what the healthy and unhealthy ranges of these metals should be. If your metal levels are high, you may be entitled to compensation.
